| When painting, I explore the edge between abstraction and representation with an emphasis on the expressive use of color.
I don’t imitate nature or things, nor do I reproduce colors as I see them. Rather, my content and palette are informed by past experiences and future longings, and my paintings grow in a subconscious / conscious effort to connect memory and reality to imagery.
Like the Abstract Expressionists, I am inspired by the act of painting itself. My paintings are characterized by heavy impasto, decisive brushwork, brilliant hues and invented color schemes. Color remains the soul of my work, reflecting the rich intersection between what I know and what I feel. My colors are expressive, uninhibited, and must play well together. In the end, it is my unrestrained color and loosely abstracted forms that indulge unsuspecting viewers with a visual pleasure.

Whoever you are, some evening take a step out of your house, which you know so well.
Enormous space is near . . .
