Growing up in Birmingham, Michigan, Jane was exposed to art at an early age. She remembers attending drawing classes at the Birmingham Community House where the seed for her visual expression was planted. β€œArt has always been a part of my life. It defines me. First as a graphic designer, now as a painter, art has served as my all-important venue of expression and communication.”

Retiring after 20 years as the successful head of her graphic design firm, Jane shifted her focus to painting. She was offered a full scholarship in the Masters of Painting program at Arizona State University, where she obtained her masters in 2004. During this time Jane learned that great painting technique is not taught, but discovered, encouraged and refined through experimentation and process. Jane's unique artistic voice, which craved expression, developed volume and clarity during this period.

Inspired by Pierre Bonnard, Edvard Vuillard, Joan Mitchell and Henri Matisse, Jane found her voice and developed her unique gestural style and colorful palette. She has since received numerous grants, residencies and invitations from galleries. Jane has earned national and international recognition for her landscape paintings. She was twice invited to exhibit at the esteemed Florence Biennale and has been selected to show in museums and universities throughout the country. Her work is eagerly sought by arts enthusiasts and can be found in prestigious private and corporate collections.
